We are so pleased that you are here. We are Gary and Nancy Tripp, owners of Out West Designs since 2004.

Where we are - what we do

Out West Designs is a cozy retail gallery and design studio in the quaint western town of Sisters, Oregon. Located just one block south of highway 20, on the corner of Hood and Elm, you can find us here every day ~ in the design studio, happily creating unique, interesting, and truly one-of-a-kind jewelry ~ just for you.

Our designs incorporate many different elements which may include sterling silver, copper, precious gems and semi-precious stones.

What we have in stock

We stock a full line of beading and jewelry designing products for those who enjoy creating jewelry. The retail shop is lined with rows of well-stocked and well-organized wooden boxes whose drawers are simply chock full of all manner of beads for those who may need only one, two or just a few beads. You will discover Swarovski crystals, trade beads, stone, glass and odd, eclectic beads galore! Sterling silver and Gold-filled findings have a cabinet of their own. We will gladly special order design elements for you if you don’t see what you need.

Our bead wall is a beautiful rainbow of color filling one entire wall! We have a great variety of strands ~ natural stone, glass, metals and, of course, pearls. Our strands are personally hand-selected for quality and we look long and hard to find good stone, unique cuts and the finest quality we can to supply your needs. We have finely cut gemstones sparkling in our front cabinet that are just waiting for you to design into a glorious piece of custom jewelry. We have the best beads we can find. We are far more interested in quality than quantity.

Workshops

We have workshops and classes on an ongoing basis. Silversmith classes are available one-on-one ~ to be scheduled with Gary at your convenience. Please know we are happy to answer your design questions anytime, too.

The Bead bar

The BEAD BAR is always open and you are welcome to come, pull up a bar stool, and work on your designs at your leisure!
Use our tools, ask for assistance, and generally have FUN! We also have HAPPY HOUR from 4-6 most days ~ come and enjoy our “HAPPY HOUR” specials. ~ (daily specials are subject to change)

A Little Background on Us

Gary and Nancy met in Reno in 1981, were married in 1982 and have lived in Nevada, California, and finally settled in Central Oregon
15 years ago. “WE love it here!”

We have two sons ages 21 and 23 who are currently living in the Bend area and we enjoy spending time with them as much as possible…everyone is SO busy!

We will tell the story of how we came to this time and this place over the course of time, perhaps in the blog or through the monthly e-mail newsletter, or just come on in, bring a cup of something good from Sister’s Coffee, pull up a bar stool and ask us! ~ We LOVE to tell the tale of how we got to where we are! Nothing like a good story!

Nancy’s younger sister, Julie has moved to Sisters in this past year! She and her husband, Mitch, bought Sister’s Olive and Nut and are falling into the rhythm of the Sisters lifestyle along with their three young daughters. Imagine ALL the fun Aunt Nancy has with three little girls to “play” with.
